The Thanksgiving Season

It’s been a little over six weeks since I was hit by the van in the donut shop. I’ve had a lot of time at home to recover both physically and mentally. This event has changed my life forever. I’m thankful that God didn’t feel that it was my time to leave this earth. I feel that he has more plans for me and my life. I still have a ways to go with my recovery before I’m back to 100% but I’m still here and each day is a blessing.

As we approach Thanksgiving next week I must say that my list of things to be thankful for has changed. It’s not the big things that are so important anymore. Being here and waking up each day is a gift from God to be thankful for each day. I appreciate my family and friends more now that ever before. I’m very appreciative of all of your prayers, calls and kind words and deeds. This accident has changed me emotionally as well. I have always been a soft hearted person and can cry at the drop of a hat but this has made me more emotional than I’ve ever been before. Some may think that this is more information that I should share but I say this to tell you all to be thankful for the simple things in your life that God has given you. I’m looking forward to being healthy and ready to do some great things in 2022 but I enjoy each day.

Waking up to see another day is a blessing. Don’t take it for granted. Make it count and be happy that you’re alive.
